Former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars midfielder Collins ‘Gattuso’ Okoth and his co-accused Sylvia Aoko Odhiambo were arraigned on Tuesday over the murder of a minor in April.

The two appeared before Milimani High Court Judge Alexander Muteti where they faced charges on the death of Pamela Atieno alias Scovian Maya at their home in Lucky Summer Estate.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), the two are alleged to have broken into the house of the deceased’s parents’ house in Lucky Summer and murdered the three-year-old.

Mr Okoth with the help of his co-accused are alleged to have broken into the deceased's parents' rental house in Lucky Summer in the absence of her parents and committed the heinous act. Her lifeless body was later discovered dumped in a nearby resident,” read a post on the ODPP’s X account.

Justice Muteti ordered the two to undergo mental assessment and be presented to the court on July 30 for plea-taking.

This is not the first time Gattuso was in court over the case as he was last arraigned in April at Makadara Law Courts, and charged with defilement and murder of the baby on the night of April 22.

Gattuso has been remanded at Industrial Area while Odhiambo will be confined at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
